This Year's Model Updates:

The value-priced Work Truck package is now available on both regular and extended cabs. Base models pick up cruise control, a sound system, chrome rear bumper and chrome wheels. An automatic transmission is now standard on LS models, and the V6 is no longer an option in this trim. Other updates include new polished aluminum wheels and 265/70R16 tires with either black sidewalls or raised white lettering. The Quadrasteer option no longer requires the buyer to order trailering equipment. There's also a new tonneau cover, and inside, you'll find underseat storage. Finally, Chevrolet has deleted the Silverado's passenger-side outside door lock.

Pros:
  • Roomy extended-cab models, strong V8 engines, innovative features.
Cons:
  • Cheap interior materials, questionable build quality.

  • A Quality Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I have owned many Chevrolets in my life and this truck is one of my favorites. The ride is nice and the power is unmatched by many other trucks offered by other brands. The style is unlike any other truck. Chevrolet is doing a good job of putting out quality trucks. I use my truck for work and I am never disapointed. I take it for long trips and stay comfortable and never worry about breaking down.

After 2 1/2 years of ownership experience and 40K+ of driving this truck continues to be one of if not the best vehicle Ive owned. For a full size 4x4 5000lbs. truck, gas mileage is very good. Minding the speed limit will net 21 MPG on the interstate. Only one problem in ownership, bad power steering pump replaced under warranty around 10K miles. I grew up in a blue oval family and have owned different makes and models of all vehicles, foreign and domestic. As stated above I have no regrets about this truck. I would highly recommend GM products based on this ownership experience. (I wouldnt have done so just a few years ago.) Great job Chevy. Keep on making these classic bowties!

Bought it new Jan 2004. At 60,0000 miles I bought the first set of tires and brakes. ]I get 15 mpg city, 18 mpg highway with 4.8 liter. ] The 4WD is great in the northeast. Truck cruises at 70mph feels like a sedan, yes, there is road noise, its a truck. Nothing replaced so far, did not have to bring it to the dealer once! If you need or want a truck, take a serious look at a GM.

I love this truck.!! It drives nice the seats are excellent and the ride noise is minimal.. Leather (AN3) Full Feature Seats Heated Buckets are a must when ordering. The Steering wheel mounted controls allows you to control everything except the traffic outside at which time you can just turn up the 6 disc Indash BOSE stereo... Very Nice.. Ordered with 17 in off road tires and wheels and they really improve the looks of the exterior.

I named my title that way because those were the words I had said described to the feel and the comfort as my husband and I first took one out for a test- drive. The suspension is smooth and the response in the handling is amazing as Ive never driven a pickup truck in my life!! If I found it easy to drive than any woman can drive this thing!! The first 2003-04 Silverado wasnt a Z71 package like the one we ended up buying, but what a thrill to drive in any Silverado!! We love it and were both glad weve done our homework before settling on driving a Chevy truck!! Now Im looking to buy my own Chevy trunk in the very near future for my own thrills!

the truck, siverado, ls. rides very well, & feels very solid, & holds the road with excellent traction & maneuverability. the stereo radio with cd sounds great. the engine performance is great,285 hp, for the 4.8 v8, transmission shifts very well, i like the heated rear window & outside, side mirrors, the tilt wheel seems to function very good, the back seat gives good support to the lumbar & lower back, 16" chrome-plated steel wheels with goodyear wranglers. excellent truck for the price, about 26000$ on my first tank of reg. gas, i averaged about 15 mpg, during break-in period, as of right now i have about 400 miles on it, im a retired auto worker,
